Sedation Options for Dentophobia
If you require a dentist with sedation qualifications, Dr. Robert Funk at Shorewood Family Dental Care can help. Dr. Funk has been licensed for more than a decade to provide sedation dentistry services. He will either prescribe an oral sedation medication that you take shortly before arriving at the office. Or, for patients with more severe anxiety or for more complex procedures, IV sedation may be the preferred option.
The benefits of IV sedation are centered around getting patients who have not received dental care for many years back in the habit of regular cleanings and treatment for any lingering problems.
Sedation is available for adults age 18 and older. Nitrous oxide (aka, laughing gas) is available for younger patients as well as adults.
