When is the last time you took a selfie or posted a picture on social media? What did your smile look like in that photo?
Can you see your teeth? (If not, take a quick pic now or take a look in a mirror if one is nearby.)
Now, look closely at your teeth. If you could change anything about your smile, what would you do?
The good news is we can probably help with whatever you decided with a smile makeover at Shorewood Family Dental Care. With one or more of our cosmetic services, you could transform your smile.
Laser Gum Reshaping
Whether someone has a “gummy” smile is ultimately up to that individual. In general, you have a gummy smile if you feel like your gums are more noticeable than your teeth.
If this is something you would like to change, then we have the perfect tool for the job.
Using a diode laser, we can remove the extra gum tissue from your mouth. This will reveal more of your teeth and let your gums play more of a supporting role in your smile.
The dental laser is a big improvement over the old way of dealing with this issue. Previously, dentists used a scalpel to cut away gum tissue. As you might expect, this caused bleeding, often required stitches, and lead to longer recovery times after the procedure.
With our dental laser, we simply evaporate the extra tissue. The laser also seals the remaining tissue as we go. You often don’t need stitches. Your recovery time is shorter.
And most important, you smile looks how you want it to look.
Can you guess the most popular form of cosmetic dentistry in the United States? You probably already knew it’s teeth whitening.
All you have to do is look at all the commercials and self-proclaimed whitening products available at any retail store to know that Americans want white teeth. Unfortunately, removing deep stains often takes more power than you can find in the toothpaste aisle.
According to the ADA Council on Scientific Affairs, whitening toothpaste helps primarily with surface stains. Whitening gels and strips (which contain bleaching agents) can get some of the deeper stains, but commercial products only have a fraction of the power of professional teeth whitening.
And where can you get professional teeth whitening? At Shorewood Family Dental Care!
When used as directed, professional teeth whitening can make a big difference in how bright your smile looks.
Let us know if you are tired of looking at the stains in your smile, and we will show you what professional teeth whitening can do.
What could dental veneers do for your teeth? It might be easier to list the things they can’t do.
If you’ve ever flipped through a celebrity magazine and wished you could have a smile like some star, then dental veneers may be exactly what you want.
Dental veneers are different than many other cosmetic options. Instead of changing your teeth, veneers conceal them. When porcelain veneers are bonded to the front of your teeth, they can completely transform your smile.
If you want whiter teeth, veneers can make them as white as you want them to be.
If you want to close gaps between your teeth, veneers can help with that, too.
If you wish your teeth weren’t crowded together, veneers can make them look more evenly spaced.
And if you have teeth that are worn-down, chipped, or have small breaks, veneers could help restore your teeth to their original shape and size.
